2006 Team MK Award Winners with Lee Theis

Chasing the Dream Award Cody Slark

This scholarship is intended for Minnesota’s fastest and most dedicated rider. We want one racer to represent Motokazie and Minnesota to the best of his/her abilities by providing assistance with entry fees at amateur nationals. The award consists of:

·         $250 Entries paid for Amateur Nationals. To use at: Loretta Lynn’s, Ponca City, Branson, Mini-O’s, World Mini, GNC.

  • $250 Factory level ride on Team Motokazie
  • $110 admission to a Motokazie Race School

Cody Slark is the 2007/2008 winner. He has been riding for about 5 years, since he was 13 years old; and races in the 125C and 125Jr class. In the 2007 Motokazie Outdoor Motocross Series, Cody finished 3rd in the 125C class; and he won the series title in the same class in the 2007-2008 Motokazie Indoor Motocross Series. He is a good mechanic and is working toward a goal of becoming a Pro rider. Motokazie is proud to support Cody and his dream.

Honorable Scholar Brandon stewart

This scholarship is for the highly motivated rider in the classroom as well as on the track. The award is based on Sportsmanship on and off the track – not on winning races. The winner will exhibit giving, caring, determination and love of the sport. The honorable scholar combines assistance for future education of the racer, with financial backing for Motokazie race school and races. The award consists of:

  • $250 Education assistance used toward your college fund, technical school, current classes for primary education (K-12), school trips, etc.
  • $200 in U.S. Savings bonds.
  • $250 Factory level ride on Team Motokazie for the 2007 season
  • $110 admission to a Motokazie Race School

Brandon Stewart has been racing motocross for about 4 years. In 2007 he raced in the 125B class and the 16-24B class, where he finished 4th and 1st respectively. He is planning to attend Motorcycle Mechanics School in the fall of 2008. When he earns his degree he plans to open his own shop to offer racers affordable mechanical work. He stated in his application that “with the cost of tuition and tools for classes, I have a very hard time paying for college, let alone finding money to ride. I have my heart and soul set into motocross and I know I have what it takes to go somewhere in the sport. I know that obtaining a degree will help me realize my goals, and it will even help me help others.” Motokazie is happy to support Brandon in both his love for Motocross and his dream to earn a post-secondary degree.
