MK News Motokazie will be doing random sound testing at this
weekend's indoor event. We will be randomly picking 10 or more
machines each day to test (bikes and quads). Please bring your
quiet inserts. We will also have dB Dawgs for purchase at the
track. There will be no disqualification or penalties; but there
will be a one warning limit. We want to take this opportunity
to remind and educate riders that sound is an important issue
in our sport. Motokazie will also be sound testing this summer
at our Supercross events. |

George Hodkinson "GPS George" passed away this week.
Visitation will be at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault on Sunday,
February 14, 2010 from 1 to 4 p.m. and also at church for one
hour prior to the service on Monday. Funeral services will be
held at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Faribault on Monday, February
15, 2010 at 10 a.m.
The motocross community and District 23 has lost a great friend
and supporter. George was a previous District 23 racer, owner
of GPS Suspension and owner/manager of a professional arenacross
team for several years. George was a District 23 boardmember
for many years along with a sponsor and supporter of Motokazie
events. He will be greatly missed. |

KTM Contingency for Indoor MX Rule Clarification...The KTM Contingency
is for United State residents only. To qualify you must race
the series, that's all 4 races and finish in the top 3 in your
class. The classes that qualify for KTM Contingency are: Schoolboy,
250 A/B/C, 450 A/B/C, 14-24 A/B/C, +25 A/B/C, +30 A/B/C, +40,
Women, and Quad Open. Payout is $150 for 1st, $100 for 2nd,
and $50 for third. |

Motokazie would like to Congratulate Collin Cassem who was awarded
the Motokazie Chasing the Dream Award at the Motokazie Banquet
on Nov. 6th. Collin has been racing for several years; and has
set his goals for 2010 to qualify for Loretta Lynn’s and
Ponca. This year in the Motokazie MX Series he placed 3rd in
both the 14-24B and the Open B classes. Motokazie would also
like to thank the Team Motokazie High Points Earners - Luke
Radunz, Cody Slark, Jake Chmiewleski, and honorable mention

11/25/09 Congratulations to Brady Nesbitt and Steve Schoenoff
for winning the Motokazie Quad and Bike Give-aways at the Motokazie
Banquet. Hitching Post Motorsports of the Twin Cities raffled
off a 2008 Polaris Outlaw 525 to the Motokazie Supercross participants.
Brady Nesbitt of Savage, MN, had his name drawn from over 633
entries. Waconia Powersports of Waconia , MN raffled off a 2009
DRZ70 to the Motokazie Motocross participants. Steve Schoenoff
of Woodville , WI , had his name drawn from over 102 entries. |

Official Statement: Eleven years after Motokazie rebuilt Elko
Motocross from a dirt field to a premier MX track, we are ceasing
operations. We thank all of the riders, racers and families
that have participated. I want to also thank all the volunteers,
flaggers, admin staff and maintenance crew for their hard work.
Personally, this is very difficult for me – I have dedicated
11 years of hard work, investment and risk, to this facility.
This was not an easy decision to make; but there are circumstances
out of my control that have brought us to this conclusion. Motokazie
is removing all of its buildings, equipment and property in
the month of December.
We are committed to the Motorsports community and to providing
professional, quality experiences for riders and racers. I have
crossed on to a new road for Motokazie and I am excited for
what is ahead. We have 13 years of experience and 860 events
promoted and I will not let that go to waste. Many riders and
families depend on us. I urge all of our customers to stay tuned

Update on Erik Busch from his Dad, Rick: Erik seems to be improving
and they actually had him up today! He wanted to know if he
could race on Friday night... He has a badly broken right femur,
concussion and black and blue left shoulder, the EVS Leatt definitely
did its job. The parents who saw the crash said he cart wheeled
3-4 times and was caught on the bike, right leg may have gotten
caught between right side handlebar and gas tank. Please extend
our appreciation to ALL the Motokazie staff that helped Erik
and the EMS personnel. |

Kellogg MX This Weekend!!
Motokazie will be hosting lots of fun activities this weekend
after the Millville National. Saturday night we'll have a DJ
from 8pm-11pm, plus a Wiffle Ball Homerun Contest and Kickball
games starting at 7pm. Camping is only $10/vehicle and the gates
will be open until 11pm.
Remember - we also have practice on Saturday from 12-5pm. $30
per rider. 3 tracks to ride on. No memberships required.
Racing on Sunday is AMA and D23 sanctioned. Practice will start
at 8am and Racing at 9am. Call the Kellogg track hotline for

Kellogg MX is only 21 miles from Spring Creek MX. From Spring
Creek head east on Hwy 60, south on Cty Rd 4, east on Hwy 42,

Motokazie to host Free Pro Practice at Elko and Kellogg facilities
Pro Riders can show their Pro License at Elko MX Practice this
Thursday, July 16th, and Practice for Free. Open Practice runs

Motokazie will also host Private Pro Practice at the Kellogg
MX facility on Friday, July 17th, from noon-4pm. Again, Pro
Riders can show their Pro License and practice for Free. Call

facility will also be hosting Open Practice for all riders on
Friday, July 17th, from 4pm-8pm and again on Saturday, July

is doing OK. He over jumped a step up at Mazeppa and was thrown
from his bike. He has broken both right and left femurs in his
legs. He has no other head/neck or back injurys. His spirits

News Motokazie promotes huge 4th of July race in Clinton, Iowa!
Clinton Riverboat Days expects over 3000 people for the motocross
event. The track will feature some large triples and jump sections
along with a long whoops section. 1800 yards of dirt will be
used and the track will be 20’ wide. 450 Pro and 250 Pro
classes will have a $3000 purse. The payout per class is: $650,
$300, $200, $150, $100, $50, $30, $20. Quad 450 Pro will have
a $600 purse. 19 classes offered from 50cc to pro Bikes &
Quads. Pits open at 11am, Practice at 2pm and Races at 3pm.

MK News Elko I-35 small Detour coming 4/25-26. This affects
the 1st Elko Race. The bridge at McStop (Co. Rd. 70) will be
removed and traffic will have to use the on/off ramps to bypass
the bridge work. Expect backed up traffic. Also note that the
Co. 70 bridge will be out for 6 months, but the on/off ramps
will remain open. |

MK News Today the crew arrived at the track with very good conditions.
The soil is dry and the parking lots are firm. It looks like
we will open on Friday. We made many new track changes today
to the main track. The pee wee track will not get built for
1 more week. We will keep everyone posted on weather updates |

on the Kellogg MX track on Monday the 30th. Many of the planned
changes have been made. We plan to open the track on Friday
April 3rd 4pm to 8pm, Saturday April 4th Practice 12-5pm, Sunday
April 5th Race 8am to 4pm.

Motokazie will feature 5 races this summer with Contingency
Dates: 4/19 Kawasaki Contingency at Kellogg MX, 6/7 Honda Contingency
at Mankato MX, 7/26 Yamaha Contingency at Elko, 8/23 Suzuki
and Honda Contingency at Elko, 9/7 Yamaha Contingency at Kellogg.

contingency programs or go to the Manufactures websites for

KTM riders must races all 4 events and pay out is based on series
end points. 1st $150, 2nd $100, 3rd $50. Motorcycles 125cc to

MK News Motokazie has completed an agreement with Midway MX
(Kellogg) in which Motokazie will operate the facility in 2009.
Motokazie plans to merge the 7 races at Midway into Elko/Mankato
Motocross Series. The 2009 16 race “Motokazie Motocross
Series” will be the largest in the State of Minnesota.
Motokazie/MidwayMX will be open for practice every Saturday
& Sunday except for Race weekends. Practice may also be
open on special holiday or supreme weather days. Race weekend
schedule will consist of: Friday 3pm – dark open practice,
Saturday 12 to 5pm open practice, Sunday races. On weekdays
the track may also be utilized for private track rentals,
dealer ride days, race schools or misc activities by appointment
only.
We are also considering some track changes and improvements
for spring 2009. The Motokazie Motocross series will count
9 of 16 races towards season end championship. Stay tuned

News 10/23 Stolen Dirt Bikes: A member of the Kato Cycle Club,
John Furlong, had two Suzuki RM 125’s Plus trailer stolen
last night. Look for stock RM 125 no numbers on the plates one
is a 2003 and one is a 2004. The 2004 has an alpine sticker
on front number plate and a canon valley sticker on the rear
fender. Trailer is a black single axel trailer that he got from
Menards. It’s a brand new trailer and had not been licensed

MK News: Details on Mankato MX 10/12 Sunday, Oct. 12th: Gates
at 7am, Practice at 8:30am, Racing at 9:30am. There is no practice
on Saturday. Gates will be open until 10pm Saturday for camping.
This race is AMA sanctioned, you must have an AMA membership
to race. Memberships will be available for purchase at the track.
This is a Motokazie MX Series Points Paying race; but not a
District 23 Points Paying Race. Call before you haul 952-601-1169. |

MK News SX Big Quad Sound Testing: Motokazie has spoken with
an ATVA representative regarding sound testing of Quads; and
the ATVA rep confirmred that 3750RPM is the testing level to
follow for SAE 99dba tests. All Quads tested on 5/16 at Jordan
did pass the test; and we want to express our appreciation for
the riders patience and efforts to meet the AMA/ATVA sound requirements.
We ask all riders, both Quad riders and Bike riders, to repack
and use quiet cores! Our efforts now will ensure many more years
of off-road racing in Minnesota. |
